Client Testimonials
“Last year, I embarked upon finding a quality trainer. As a busy professional, I previously exercised three to four times per month and habitually incorporated low-quality foods in my diet.
I desired to put an end to the damage I was doing to my body. Steve was prepared, presented an overall plan and clearly illustrated the steps I needed to take to change my life. He coached me in making better choices and thoughtfully answered all of my questions.
Steve is more than a trainer in that he genuinely cares, will work at your level, pushes you to make progress and doesn’t take excuses. I shared my personal story and he never judged me. He is my biggest inspiration as I embark upon this lifestyle change. The choice is yours. Choose to live! Roy Fitness is a great place to start and realize success!”

“Steve is fabulous! He is motivating and inspiring. I can now do push ups, sit ups, and a lot of other exercises that I thought were impossible before. I have more energy because I wasn’t eating the right foods for the amount of exercise I was doing. My girlfriend have been training with him for about 10 months now and we laugh, moan, and sometimes complain, but we always feel better after our session with Steve.”

“I truly do credit Steve Roy with being a major part of saving my life. Understanding my medical issues at the time, Steve called me out of the blue and offered to train me, saying he really wanted to see me get healthy.
He came to my house weekly and challenged me physically and emotionally to make positive changes, until I found the motivation in myself to continue on the path to better health. I felt completely comfortable with Steve
from the very first meeting. He is the kind of person that I found myself wanting to impress, which made me push harder.
Today I am more than 85 pounds lighter and in the best shape of my life. Inspired by Steve’s kindness, I have recently become a certified
personal trainer and hope to be the positive influence on someone else’s life that Steve was and continues to be on mine. Thanks for everything you have done for me, Steve!”

“I started working with Steve late in 2006 and though there was a break of a year or so somewhere in the middle, I still work out with him once a week. In 2006 I was staring down a couple years to becoming 50, was struggling with achieving and maintaining any kind of progress toward losing weight and being fit, and decided that it was time to get serious. I decided that I needed professional help.
I googled personal trainers for my area and found many choices. I read through bios and credentials and made initial contacts via e-mail. Some didn’t respond at all, some sent automated responses asking me to call for an appointment and a couple called back after several days had passed. Steve responded quickly with an e-mail, answering directly some questions I had posed and offering a free consultation during which we could both decide if this would be a good business match. It was the most professional yet individualized response I received and it was actually an easy choice to pick him out of the crowd.
What I like most about Steve’s approach to personal training is that he doesn’t push me beyond where I’m ready to go. He makes recommendations about what will help me achieve my goals, is always encouraging, and never makes me feel bad for not doing more.
A case in point was last year when I broke my foot. I had been working pretty hard prior to that and was making progress. Then all of a sudden, I had to become fairly stationary and even when I was able to exercise on a limited basis, there were things I just couldn’t do until my foot finished healing. This went on for months. Steve was very patient, always asking about my progress and never showing any signs of irritation or boredom that we couldn’t move any faster. Then when I was able to return to full activity, he helped me work back up to my previous level of exercise and then push past it to new levels.
Steve is very thorough with his explanations of how certain exercises improve certain areas of fitness, gives good advice around nutrition and explains how the whole package of regular exercise and good eating works together to accomplish my goals.
One of my concerns when deciding to hire a personal trainer was that I’d be expected to accomplish things that a 20-something or 30-something person might be trying to accomplish. I’m 51, work full time, and am dealing with perimenopause, and I want a fitness routine that takes all of this into account. Steve does this. He never makes me feel old or slow or weak. He provides that essential element of support and encouragement that is needed for any successful effort to reverse a lifetime of bad habits and achieve a healthier; more toned and fit life style.
The fact that he so completely understands that it is a life style change and not just a 6-week program to drop a few pounds is what makes him so successful at being a personal trainer and coach.
If you’re looking for someone who knows his stuff, listens and adapts to what you want to achieve personally, is supportive of and responsive to you, has a lot of ways to change up the routines so that it doesn’t become boring, and can help you through all levels of fitness from beginner-wimp level to I-am-woman-hear-me roar level, then Steve Roy is your guy. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how easy he makes it to start on a path to better fitness.”

“I got to know Steve from a friend who was training with him and as soon as she introduced me to him, I realized that I had finally found a trainer who understood where I was coming from, and where I wanted to go.
With extreme work hours and a hectic schedule, I was amazed that he was flexible with me on his availability on the only day that worked for both of us (Saturday). I worked with Steve after Summer 2009 and although we met just once a week, it served as a great motivation to workout on my own as well.
Just in the first month of working out, I could feel the strength and endurance going uphill. It was amazing to see the changes in my body as I had been a couch potato for a long time and had no clue I could do the things I did.
He pushes you to the next level and I did hate him at times for it, but he knew my body just as much as I did and knew exactly how far to push things. His approach was stunning and the workouts were simply body transforming. His “Smiling is optional but finishing is NOT’ mentality got me on a path to the fitness level where I could feel comfortable with myself.
Unlike many other trainers that I’ve dealt with in the past, Steve is very conversational and has the ability to make the workouts dynamic and fun.
Overall, his flexible schedule, likeable personality, ability to understand the clients’ needs, and very reasonable rates put him on top of the list for me.”

“I started working with Steve to increase my strength and to generally firm up. I just turned 53 and after 8 months of working with Steve I feel better than I have in years. I enjoyed the workouts and was encouraged throughout each workout to work to my fullest ability. I am amazed at what I can do now and thankful I had an instructor who know just what I needed and would not let me give up on myself. Thanks Steve.”
